“Συνθέτοντας με μία ανακατασκευή αρχαίας κίθαρις…
Είναι εξαιρετικά διασκεδαστικό να διδάσκω τον εαυτό μου να παίζει με μία Αρχαία Κίθαρις του Χρυσού Αιώνα από τη LUTHIEROS. Ένα από τα πιο ενδιαφέροντα χαρακτηριστικά αυτών των οργάνων είναι ο κινητός ζυγός! Επηρεάζει διαφορετικά το κούρδισμα κάθε χορδής, ανάλογα με τη θέση της τελευταίας πάνω στο όργανο […] Καταλαβαίνω απόλυτα πλέον γιατί οι αρχαίοι κιθαρωδοί θεωρούνταν οι rock stars της εποχής τους. Τα εν λόγω όργανα μπορούν να παράξουν μουσική με έναν μοναδικό, πολύ ιδιαίτερο και “ανθρώπινο” τρόπο, κάτι που δεν μπορούν να κάνουν σε καμία περίπτωση οι λύρες δίχως κινητά μέρη. Νομίζω ότι αυτός είναι και ο λόγος που οι αρχαίες κιθάρες συχνά σχεδιάζονταν ώστε να μοιάζουν με ανθρώπινο πρόσωπο: ο καβαλάρης να έχει τη θέση του στόματος, ενώ οι οπές του ηχείου τη θέση των ματιών (μερικές φορές με προσεκτικά ζωγραφισμένα ή ένθετα φρύδια)!” Peter Pringle

Η συνεργασία μου με την οργανοποιία Luthieros αποτελεί ένα διαρκές ερέθισμα για περαιτέρω αναζήτηση. Πάρτε ως παράδειγμα την πανέμορφη βάρβιτο που κατασκεύασαν με τόση τέχνη και αγάπη! Πραγματικά ελπίζω η εξαιρετική ποιότητα στην κατασκευή της, καθώς και η ομορφιά του οργάνου να είναι ορατά στο εν λόγω βίντεο. Δεν θέλω να μιλήσω για απόλυτη πιστότητα με όργανα της αρχαίας Ελλάδας. Ο στόχος είναι η ορθή μουσική προσέγγιση. Κανένας δεν μπορεί να υποστηρίξει ότι γνωρίζει πως ακριβώς έμοιαζαν τα εν λόγω όργανα, ή πως ακριβώς παίζονταν από τους μουσικούς της εποχής. Βρισκόμαστε όλοι σε μία διαρκή αναζήτηση για την τέλεια ισορροπία. Ισορροπία μεταξύ της πιστότητας απέναντι στα λιγοστά ευρήματα που διασώζονται σχετικά με τα μουσικά όργανα της αρχαίας Ελλάδας και της ουσίας της μουσικής έκφρασης και της παραγόμενης μελωδίας στον βαθμό που μπορεί να γίνουν κατανοητά σήμερα.
Μια Κίθαρις για τον Ross Daly
Ο Ρος Ντέλι είναι Ιρλανδός μουσικός, με εξειδίκευση στην κρητική λύρα και το αφγανικό ραμπάμπ. Η ενασχόλησή του με τη μουσική ξεκίνησε από την παιδική του ηλικία με την παρότρυνση της μητέρας του η οποία ήταν αρκετά φιλόμουση. Αρχικά ξεκίνησε με κλασική μουσική με όργανα όπως πιάνο, βιολοντσέλο κι αργότερα κιθάρα με την οποία είχε ασχοληθεί περισσότερο σαν έφηβος.
“Η κιθάρα που μου έφτιαξαν οι Luthieros MusicInstruments (Οργανοποιία Luthieros – Αναστάσιος) αποτελεί για μένα μια πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα πρόκληση. Ως οργάνο ειναι ταυτόχρονα παμπάλαιο και ολοκαίνουριο. Κουβαλαεί μια ιστορία πολλών αιώνων και την ίδια στιγμή αποτελεί μια πολύ σύγχρονη πρόκληση που απαιτεί μια δημιουργική προσέγγιση πάνω σε μουσικά αρχέτυπα. Μετά από πολλά πειράματα με διαφορετικές χορδές (νούμερα και υλικά) και διαφορετικά κουρδίσματα ανακαλύπτω ότι το όργανο αυτό έχει παρά πολλές προεκτάσεις και δυνατότητες που δεν φαίνονται με τη πρώτη ματιά. Ως κατασκευή ειναι ταυτόχρονα στιβαρή και λεπτοκαμωμένη, και φτιαγμένο από ποιοτικά ξύλα εύηχα, καλαίσθητα και αντοχής.”

Αρχαίες Λύρες μας στο Hollywood!

Buck Sanders και Marco Beltrami
Ο Marco Beltrami είναι πολυβραβευμένος αμερικανός συνθέτης, ιδιαίτερα γνωστός για το έργο του ως μουσικός συνθέτης κινηματογραφικών ταινιών του Hollywood. Μεταξύ άλλων, έχει συνεργαστεί με τον σκηνοθέτη – παραγωγό Wes Craven για ταινίες όπως: Scream, Mimic, The Crow: Salvation, Resident Evil, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines και Hellboy (σε συνεργασία με τον del Toro). Εν έτη 2007 υπήρξε υποψήφιος για Όσκαρ για τη μουσική του στην ταινία 3:10 to Yuma, καθώς και για την ταινία Hurt Locker ένα χρόνο αργότερα. Συνεχίζει μέχρι σήμερα το έργο του στο Hollywood, γράφοντας μουσική (μεταξύ άλλων) για τις ταινίες The Woman in Black (2012), A Good Day to Die Hard (2013), The Giver (2014), Fantastic Four, Hitman: Agent 47 (2015) και Ben-Hur (2016). Η Simmone Jones για την Οργανοποιία μας…
Κατά βάση συνθέτω experimental και dark pop music, οπότε η χρήση αρχαίας λύρας για τα τραγούδια μου αποτελεί μία άκρως μη συμβατική προσέγγιση. Για πρώτη φορά, πήρα τη λύρα μαζί μου σε ένα solo tour που πραγματοποίησα στην Ιταλία αυτόν τον μήνα. Το ακροατήριο μου ανταποκρίθηκε με θέρμη και πολλοί έδειξαν ενδιαφέρον να μάθουν περισσότερα για το εν λόγω όργανο. Σίγουρα, δεν είναι κάτι που βλέπεις κάθε μέρα. Η λύρα αποτελεί από μόνη της ένα έργο τέχνης, μοναδική στο είδος της μιας και λόγω της χειροποίητης κατασκευής τους δεν δύναται να υπάρξουν δύο 100% πανομοιότυπα όργανα. Ο ήχος είναι πράγματι πολύ ιδιαίτερος.
Μία ιστορικός – μουσικός γνωρίζει τα αρχαία μουσικά όργανα…

Έχω στη συλλογή μου πολλά μουσικά όργανα από την οργανοποιία Luthieros και σκοπεύω να προσθέσω σύντομα και άλλα! Κάθε μουσικό όργανο έχει
τη δική του μοναδική φωνή. Με έναν μαγικό τρόπο σε μεταφέρουν στο παρελθόν και σε προτρέπουν να συνθέσεις. Από τη πρώτη στιγμή που έπιασα στα χέρια μου τη φόρμιγξ και άγγιξα τις χορδές της, γλυκές μελωδίες παρήχθησαν. Αυτή είναι η φόρμιγξ του Ομήρου και των βάρδων, με καθαρό ήχο ικανό να σε οδηγήσει σε έντονο χορό, αλλά ταυτόχρονα αρκετά γλυκό για να συνοδεύσει την απαγγελία μίας ραψωδίας. Αγαπάω ιδιαίτερα τη δυνατότητα του οργάνου να παράξει vibrato, ιδανικό χαρακτηριστικό για έναν βιρτουόζο μουσικό και εξαιρετική προσθήκη σε μία παθιασμένη απαγγελία. Κάθε νότα που παίζω
με οδηγεί στην επόμενη και όλες μαζί στη σύνθεση νέων κομματιών. Αρχαίας έμπνευσης μουσικά κομμάτια χρειάζονται τη συνοδεία ενός μουσικού οργάνου με φυσικό και γλυκό ήχο, εύκολου στον χειρισμό και στην οργανοπαιξία. Αυτό ακριβώς είναι η λύρα από το οργανοποιείο Luthieros. This is

Bettina Joy de Guzman is a multi-instrumentalist and historian who reconstructs and performs
Ancient Greek Latin, and world music. She sings authentic ancient poetry and composes with
historical instruments using traditional rhythms and interpretations. Previous works have been
shortlisted for Grammy nomination, and included in numerous compilations and other media.

I met Luthieros at their stand during last year’s Musikmesse Frankfurt (Germany). From the first moment i wanted to make sure that such as beautiful artworks would sound as good as they look like. Soon i realized that i was holding a fully functional instrument (Apollo’s lyre) with 13 strings that you can play in many different ways. It is made of (and only) natural materials available during the antiquity. This instrument is very beautiful to see and this is an important aspect in our live shows. I ve been playing guitar on a professional level for the last 40 years but I always had the desire to dig into the roots of my culture.Through playing the ancient Greek lyre,I could fulfill this desire and open my musical space in even wider spheres. AIKA is a musical duo based in Los Angeles California consisting of Aika and Nicolas Farmakalidis. Ancient Lyre for everybody…
During the last three years i had the chance to introduce ancient lyre’s tutorials to more than a hundred of students with no music background at all. My personal experience confirms that Ancient Greek Lyre is an instrument much easier to learn than many of string instruments (classic guitar etc) not only to study ancient Greek melodies and culture but also to compose music.
