- ÎÂ set of three (3) plectrums, a type of ancient pick used by the ancient Greeks to play the lyre, the kithara, or other string instruments by plucking or strumming.
- One (1) telamonas, a hand-knitted hand-strap (ĎξΝιΟĎν in Greek) that was used in ancient Greece to “secure” the lyre on a player’s upper body and be able to hit the strings with both hands for advanced lyre playing.
- A complete set of premium sugar strings, mindfully chosen and approved by the LUTHIEROS team for our ancient lyres, barbitons, phorminx, panduras, kitharas, et cetera. They are exclusively produced by the master string makers of Aquila Corde Armoniche in Italy for LUTHIEROS lyres.
Before placing your order, be sure to choose the right option concerning the number of strings for your musical instrument, along with the length of the vibrating strings. This is important to prepare the right set of bridges for your instrument.Â

Bringing Ancient Artifacts Back to Life
To handcraft premium ancient-replicas with a focus to the modern musician, you have to research a lot, analyze hundreds of ancient depictions, build a lot of prototypes, test them with great musicians, etc.
And all of these, to conclude to meaningful compromises that have to be made, that are both deeply justified and make sense in terms of usability/playability. All in all, our ultimate goal is to serve the modern musician, and to bring ancient artifacts back to life as fully functional musical instruments.
This is true whether you handcraft a prominent musical instrument or a small part of it, an additional accessory for a lyre, or a revolutionary new part to further evolve it. Our master luthiers, along with our R&D team, pay attention to even the most minor of the details, and the big picture always takes care of itself.
